What is it?
If the library system does not own the material (book, video, DVD, CD, magazine article) you need, we can usually borrow from another library on interlibrary loan.  Before you make an interlibrary loan request, please read the GUIDELINES.

Interlibrary Loan is a system that allows one library to borrow a book or obtain a copy of an article from another library.  The First Regional Library borrows materials from any library in Mississippi or from any library anywhere in the United States.

How do I use it?
You can place a request by e-mail  or in person at any branch library of the First Regional Library System. Be sure to specify the branch library where you wish to pick up the material.  When the requested item arrives, it will be sent to that branch through our delivery system and you will be notified by phone or by e-mail.

You can also go to First Search and search for the title you want.

Although the service is free of charge in most instances, sometimes there are charges (particularly for photocopies of articles).  You will be notified of the charge before we authorize the lending library to send the requested item.
